Special Guest Speaker:  Heidi Goldsmith


Heidi Goldsmith is a nationally recognized education attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing students and families in special education and related matters. She is a founding partner at Bradley Goldsmith Law, LLC, where she focuses on ensuring that children receive the educational services and supports they are entitled to under the law.

Heidi previously served for nearly a decade as the Supervising Shareholder of the Special Education Department at McAndrews Law Offices. She has been appointed as the Parent Attorney Representative on the Stakeholders Council of Pennsylvania’s Office for Dispute Resolution and serves on the Professional Advisory Board of the Learning Disabilities Association of America.

A sought-after speaker, Heidi regularly presents at national and state conferences, including those hosted by the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA), the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI). She is widely respected for her deep knowledge of special education law, her collaborative approach, and her dedication to empowering families and advancing equity in education.

In addition to talking with Heidi about 504 & IEPs and how best to handle school accommodations, she will discuss navigating the current lawsuit regarding ruling 504 plans unconstitutional, the legal impact of EOs on education, and how to address upcoming issues of vaccination requirements if states decide to overturn.  We will also share tips and tricks for a healthy start to the school year!  Topics will include school and other accommodations and how to collaborate with the teachers and nurses. We will also discuss healthy routines such as gentle stretches to start the day, breathing techniques to help manage stress and anxiety (for you and your kiddo) and healthy snack suggestions for the school day.  We will also share meal prep ideas to help for busy schedules.

 
After our presentation, there will be time to connect with others. Friends, Family, and Care Partners are always welcome to join meetings.
