Metro DC (DMV) JA Families: You are a Caregiver, You are the Difference.
Being a caregiver is one of the most important—and often unseen—roles we can hold. Whether we are caring for a child, a spouse, a parent, or even ourselves while living with a chronic disease, it requires courage, strength, and resilience. But it also requires something else: community.
This first conversation is about building a community of intense support. None of us should have to walk this journey alone. We depend on each other—on the listening ear, the shared advice, the comforting word, the extra hand. And when we support our kids, our friends, and our families, we all become stronger together.
This group is a place where we can share, encourage, and lift one another up. Where no story is too heavy, no struggle too small, and no victory goes unnoticed. Because when we show up for each other, we remind ourselves that being a caregiver doesn’t mean carrying the burden alone.
