Welcome to the

Young Adults 26-40 Connect Group

Young Adults 26-40
191 Members

This online group serves the members of our arthritis community who are learning to thrive as an adult with arthritis while balancing education, careers, friends and family. We invite those who are looking for support, education, expert speakers, and connections to join us and meet others who can relate to navigating this next stage of life, as it unfolds. Please visit our Young Adults 18-25 Connect Group if it is more relevant to your season of life.

Connect Groups offer connections, education, and empowerment. People living with arthritis from across the country come together online for professional- and volunteer-led sessions on topics, as well as fun group activities.

We offer a place of understanding and encouragement for both people living with arthritis and their loved ones. Group participants become self-advocates, develop self-management skills, and learn how to not just survive life with arthritis but to thrive.

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday!

We are writing to share exciting news about our Young Adult Connect Group! We recently renamed this group to "Adults 26-40 Connect Group." We made this change to better serve our young adult arthritis community. What does this change mean? First, you are always welcome in this group. By renaming this Connect Group, we are able to create a second Connect Group named "Young Adults 18-25 Connect Group" (more below). Our Adults 26-40 Connect Group will continue to meet with the three of us facilitating discussions focused on the joys and challenges of thriving with arthritis as we all navigate education, jobs, families, and friends.

The Young Adults 18-25 Connect Group is new group and will be led by a group of facilitators who are currently navigating the unique challenges of this young adult age group including transitioning from juvenile to adult rheumatology, moving away from home for work or school, and starting first jobs. You as a Connect Group member can choose which Connect Group meets your needs. And remember, you can always join more than one Connect Group! There is always a place for you in our Connect Group.

Hi, my name is Yesenia and I'm 27. I got diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis a few months back and I am learning to live with this at a young age. I have been having a hard time when those around me make comments about being too young to have these aches, as if I don't recognize it myself.. Any tips or suggestions on how to respond to these comments when receiving them over and over again?

Hi All!
I'm applying for a scholarship but it requires a member from here to be a recommender and to submit a form for tomorrow. Anyone that would like to talk about my experience and do so? I'm returning to school for a teaching certificate and masters; I was diagnosed as a child with JIA and I'm happy to share my experience. 🙂

Is there some other chat we can all connect? I was looking for upcoming events and it says nothing.

Hi Alex!

This is probably the best chat!

Events will be up soon! We are switching facilitators and getting 2025 organized. Stay tuned and we should have an upcoming event within the next month or two. You're welcome to post on this forum with anything you want to talk about!

Welcome to the group,

Jamie P

Has anyone had any experience in owning an ESA? Did it help? How was it caring for your pet during flare ups? I want an esa dog but I want to make sure it's the right choice!
