This online group serves parents of children living with Juvenile Arthritis who are in middle school from across the country. We invite those who are looking for support, education, robust programming, expert speakers, and connection to join us and meet others who understand children in this life stage.

Live Yes! Connect Groups for JA Parents provide connections, education, and empowerment for parents and caregivers with children living with rheumatic disease. JA Parents come together for professional and volunteer-led sessions on a variety of topics and group activities as it relates to raising a child with arthritis.

Participants gain skills to advocate for their child, help their child develop self-management skills, and discover strategies for daily living. These groups are part of an expanding range of Arthritis Foundation resources that provides personalized help & support to parents who have a child/teen with a childhood rheumatic disease.

Parents of Middle School Students with JA Virtual Connect Group – Arthritis Types and Basics – a JA 101 conversation.

Join us on Tuesday, March 5th at 7 pm Eastern / 6 pm Central / 5 pm Mountain/ 4 pm Pacific for our next 90-minute event.

Join us for a conversation for parents seeking to gain a better understanding of juvenile arthritis with Annelle Reed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. In this session, we'll delve into the various types of juvenile arthritis, providing essential basics to empower parents with knowledge about symptoms, diagnosis, and available treatment options. You’ll gain clarity on these conditions, enabling you to navigate your child's journey with confidence and informed decision-making. There will be time to ask general questions to deepen your understanding and please be mindful to avoid presenting questions seeking medical advice as those types of questions need to be directed to your pediatric rheumatologist..

Annelle Reed has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the UAB Division of Rheumatology at Children’s Hospital of Alabama for the last 16 years. She graduated from Samford University in Psychology/Biology prior to attending Emory University School of Nursing for her BSN, then received her MSN at UAB School of Nursing. She has taught in undergraduate and graduate nursing schools and been a preceptor for numerous PNP students and Pediatric Dental Residents as well as worked with pediatric residents and Fellows. She has presented at several national conferences for the American College of Rheumatology, National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Rheumatology Nurse Society as well as regional workshops. Most importantly she has 4 children and 6 grandsons!

After our presentation, there will be time to connect with others. Friends, Family, and Care Partners are always welcome to join meetings.
