Live Yes! Connect Groups offer local connections, education and empowerment. Adults living with arthritis from our local community come together for professional- and volunteer-led sessions on a variety of topics, as well as fun group activities.
We offer a place of understanding and encouragement for both people living with arthritis and their loved ones. Group participants become self-advocates, develop self-management skills and learn how to not just survive life with arthritis but to thrive.

Join us on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2 PM at the Newburyport YWCA located at 13 Market Street, Newburyport MA for “Get in the Hot Water Pool Now” a free aquatics class with Ilene, Health & Wellness Director and Arthritis Foundation Certified Aquatics Program (AFAP) instructor. AFAP is a community-based, group program that uses a variety of water-based exercises to increase physical activity among adults with arthritis! The objectives are to increase the following: range of motion, muscle strength, and endurance while at the same time reducing: fatigue, pain and stiffness. This class is FREE. Let's give a standing ovation to both Ilene, our aquatics expert speaker, the mission of the local YWCA in offering this resource to our group. You will be standing in a not over your head, hot water pool watching your Arthritis Foundation instructor lead you in a series of gentle Arthritis foundation approved stretches and exercises. Folks must first be a member of the connect group, then sign up for the free hot water pool lesson. Spread the word: anyone registered for this connect group can sign up! It is first come first served for registration. Only the first 12 registrants will be allowed into the hot water pool due to size constraints. If you sign up and subsequently can't make it, please remove your attendance, so someone can have your place. YWCA details: parking lot available, handicap parking available, ramp walk way, changing rooms and locker rooms and private hot water showers available, no cost. Plan to arrive at 1:40 to allow time in the changing room. Class starts promptly in the hot water pool at 2 pm! Class should end around 2:45 pm. Feel free to soak up a little more hot water time. I am trying to get on the zoom, but I have not having any success.
Any help?
It is not 11:03 pm. Maybe that is the problem.
Hi, I’m Elysa.
I have just been given the diagnosis of rheumatoid pneumonia which, what I have come to understand is basically RA that manifests itself in my case, my right lung. There is so much vague information, I’m struggling to understand what it means. I see my pulmonologist this Thursday. Can anyone help me with a list of questions? I will be seeing a specialist in Boston, but not until December.
So, I guess any insight or help with questions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Hands, glorious hands. Set aside Monday evening March 15th at 6 45 pm or pull up a zoom with your dinner. We have a lifetime expert - an Occupational Therapist, with over 35 years experience, to demonstrate some home wrapping with Coban or show you how you adapt a cvs splint, or to take your inquiries on all things hands. Our hands need more love. Come talk to Joan and find out some tricks of the trade.
Welcome Theresa and All - please feel free to invite any arthritis warriors you know in your life that you feel might benefit from our online community. Support continues to be the third Monday of every month with a collegial and educative group that laughs a lot, also. We invite all, irrespective of geographic location as we are solely, and safely, zoom video for our group support. We are a little beacon of light - and I hope that we abate isolation in some small way. Come and bring your voice to the table. We gather at 6:45 PM on the third Monday of each month to first check in, say hello, and talk about our purpose and programming for the next month! We then introduce a speaker or topic from 7 pm to 7 30. At 745 we start a wrap up so we can sign off at 8 pm. Bring your herbal tea or sign in from work on break. Sign in from your home work out center with a busy household or sign in from a solo household with the family pet jumping around. We welcome all.
I cannot get on this? Can anyone help me?
Hi. I am grateful to be a part of the group. I live north of Boston. COVID-19 has been terribly isolating for me. I am hopeful to meet others in my area who have common interests, and of course, share the common thread of RA and other autoimmune diseases. We are in terribly trying times, and communication is so very helpful. Best to all

Our North Shore/Merrimack Valley/NH/Maine Seacoast support group is solely virtual at this time, of course, but vital with many interesting topics and ample support. Please join us for our next meeting on zoom Monday July 20, 2020 at 6:45 PM where we have an expert speaker have us think about why Yoga is so much more than stretching and how the mind/body connection ultimately serves us. Please navigate to our connect group and RSVP.
I would also like to know if there are any in person groups around north shore.
Hello! I would like to know if you have any support groups or even just get together for coffee and conversation, as having RA has been such an isolating experience for me. Thank you! Susan
Hi I just joined, I live north of Boston. I am looking to see if this group meets in person also. But night driving is a problem so have you heard anything about a group Andrea
