Live Yes! Connect Groups offer local connections, education and empowerment. Adults living with arthritis from our local community come together for professional- and volunteer-led sessions on a variety of topics, as well as fun group activities.
We offer a place of understanding and encouragement for both people living with arthritis and their loved ones. Group participants become self-advocates, develop self-management skills and learn how to not just survive life with arthritis but to thrive.

Anyone here with personal experience with osteoarthritis in the knees and treatment options? Looking for information and learning how to advocate for myself with my doctors. Thank you
Hello, I am new to the group and don't see a lot of comments or post. Maybe I am not accessing this site in the correct way. Please let me know how you guys are communicating if at all thanks
Welcome Monica!
This is a the discussion area and you are doing it correctly. I am the group facilitator, Mary Michaels. I started the group last year, and while it seems like we have a lot of members, they don't talk here for some reason. Folks don't even post about themselves on their profile much. I am here if you want or need to chat. And we can see if we can get the rest of the group to join in. I've been co-hosting meetings with the West Los Angeles group over the last year. They have monthly Zoom meetings where the first half is an educational presentation by an expert in the medical field or an exercise expert or a relaxation exercise expert, etc.. and then we all share how we are doing in general for the secon half of the meeting. Our group is still growing so joining the activities of the more established group in West LA has worked for now, but we can totally do our own thing too. I've been meaning to. What would you like to learn about? Or groups can just gather on Zoom and talk and have some fun too. What kinds of things would you like to have in the group? So glad you joined! - Mary
Can anyone that is on Humira give me more info on side effects. My Doctor has suggested this medication but I am not sure.
Hello, I'm Mary Michaels, the Facilitator for this group. I'm so sorry I have not seen your message here until today. I got sick with the flu in March as I was just starting this group at that time. I was sick for several months, so am just now getting back to working on our group. I see you wrote here on April 14th so I am wondering what you have found out since then about Humira. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Diagnosed in 2007 at age 51. I began taking Humira in 2011 and have found it to be very helpful and had no side effects other than some fatigue on the day of the injection and that is not consistent, just sometimes. It helps a great deal with my pain and inflammation. The injections are pain free. Did you begin using Humira since your original post here?
