Attention! Attention!

JA Parents and caregivers, please join us as we connect virtually for a casual meet and greet event where our mission is to connect with others who are on a similar journey. Not only will you meet families, but this will be a safe space where we can share ideas and strategies that have helped your family or just simply get to know families like your own. 

This will be an open discussion with topics ranging from:

• Relationships with Family and Friends
  • Has arthritis affected my family’s communication?
  • Helping my friends and family to understand. 
• Personal Feelings
  • How did I feel when I was first told that my child had arthritis? 
  • How do I deal with any stigma my child may experience as a result of living with arthritis?
  •  How do I deal with any fear I have as a result of living with or having a child with arthritis?
• Managing Life Changes 
  • Traveling and vacationing with arthritis. 
  • Aids or little tricks that I have found helpful in my everyday life. 
  • Considering using assistive devices. 
  •  Dealing with “invisible disability.”
• Sharing Experiences 
  • What would I say in a note or a letter to a parent whose child was recently diagnosed or what would I ask a parent that was been on this journey for years?
  • What positive experiences have occurred as a result of having a child with arthritis?
• Physician/Professional Relationships 
  • What could I tell the doctor in order for him/her to better treat my child? What do I want 
    him or her to know about my child in general?
• Future Events/Event Suggestions
